Fashion & Beauty: Tyra Banks

She's one of the most talked about women in the world of fashion, from strutting the runways to the covers of countless magazines, Tyra Banks is everywhere! But she's so much more than just a pretty face as she's an ambassador for many young girls and women everywhere. Recently she shrugged off the media attention addressing flaws about her body. By using her confidence she is helping the fashion industry which is fueled with negative body images, eating disorders, and insecurities into a positive direction.

 

 

 

 

 

Tyra began her career at the age of 17 and was the first black women to graze the cover of Sports Illustrated in 1997.  She's had contracts with Cover Girl and Victoria's Secret. With her background in television and knowledge of fashion led to her being so much of a successes which includes two impressive television shows  "America's Next Top Model" and "The Tyra Banks Show".  She recently stressed  her busy schedule with juggling two different shows, dealing with two different subject matters, However Tyra forms a balance between both as she has a uniqueness to her talk show discussing women issues and concerns of weight and self acceptance.  As the founder and producer of America's Next Top Model she gives young women an opportunity of a lifetime. By using her expertise and experience in the fashion industry. 

 

 

 

 

On both shows Tyra is able to inspire women to do whatever they put there mind to, wherther its to become a model or simply to live a healthier lifestyle. She is one of the first to open the doors to plus size models in the high fashion industry and gives them equal opportunity to compete with other women.

 

 

 

 

 

On speculation of Tyra was putting on weight she addressed the media with "You can kiss my fat ass." Her reactions were nothing more than to respect women everywhere. Her credibility as a fashion icon gives vulnerable women from every genre a sigh of relief.  Her down to earth character gives her an allowance to change perceptions of body images in the entertainment industry.
